Eide

Rasmus Ericksen was the first Eide to come to America, and he came alone. He returned to Norway once to visit in 1881. His parents were Erick Nielson Eide and Marithe Torbjornsdatter Boge. Rasmus lived and farmed in Dane County, Wisconsin before he married Guri Kolve and moved to Story County, Iowa.

Later, Rasmus' nephew and niece, Mathias Torbjoernsen and Inger Marian Torbjoerndatter, immigrated to America. Their parents were Thorbjorn Erikson, who was Rasmus Ericken's brother, and Inger Johnsan Eide.

The Eide farm in Bomlo, Norway is still in the Eide family.
